Wilmington Area Food Service utilizes a Food Service Point-of-Sale System.  This is a computerized debit system that will allow you to pay in advance for meals and/or a la carte items.  This technology allows the Food Service Director to provide debit accounts for student meals.  It will improve meal-tracking capabilities and identification of students who are eligible for free or reduced meal benefits.  Information is stored electronically.  Students may also have the option to pay cash on a daily basis.  The identification of students will be through the food service worker identifying the student, or by the student entering their Student ID number in the keypad.  (This ID number is the same number assigned to students throughout the school system.)  Students can only access his/her account.  It would be extremely helpful for students to pay in advance for as many meals as you are comfortable with.  This money will be placed on the student's account.  If there is a balance (debit/credit) from the previous year, it will be transferred to the current year.  Your child's information is stored on the Point-of-Sale System and is only for use by this software in the food service department.

Wilmington offers parents another option to pay for school lunches.  Click here to read about our new online payment system for school meals.
