Wilmington Area High School

Greetings! The Wilmington Area School District declares, as part of its logo, "Education is our #1 Priority". I cannot emphasize enough how true this is. I must also emphasize that this is due only in part to our staff and faculty. This has been, and will continue to be, a community effort. We continuously strive to seek input from a wide array of community sources, that includes parents, professional and business individuals, and Westminster College, in an effort to constantly monitor our programs and curriculum. We will continue to provide the finest education, that prepares our students for the future, regardless of the avenue they choose, once they leave Wilmington Area High School.

There is a tremendous amount of talent displayed throughout the school year by the students in our district. This talent results in outstanding academic performance in classroom and on standardized, as well as state mandated assessments. Our sports programs routinely turn out champions, but regardless of the record at the end of the season, they teach students many valuable lessons involving teamwork, dedication and self-discipline. Musical productions, plays, band and choral concerts are not just routinely scheduled events, but are community events that bind the students, families, and community together. Finally, our students reach out to the Wilmington community, and beyond, to serve in a variety of service organizations, or as individuals through their churches, school clubs, or any number of ways. We are proud of their accomplishments.

As we continue to seek ways to improve our school, I would invite everyone to continue to respond positively to invitations to meetings, selections to committees, and to particpate in school events. Without you our school system is not complete.
