Board of School Directors Update
The Wilmington Area Board of School Directors has been discussing strategies to become more effective and efficient in their governance role in the District. Please see attached for the Eight Characteristics of Effective School Boards. (Eight Characteristics) The Board has collectively focused on these characteristics by participating in Board trainings, revamping the Board meeting format, and utilizing BoardDocs which allows for Board agendas and documents to be accessed on-line. In addition, the President and Superintendent have attended a Board President training and four Board members have attended PSBA regional workshops. In coordination with the District's administrative leadership, the Board is continually focused on improving current strategies to better support the growth of the District.
January 2016 Board Update
At the January 2016 Board meeting, the Wilmington Board of School Directors adopted PSBA's Principles for Governance and Leadership.  Please click here to view these guiding principles for school boards.

Superintendent Evaluation
Each year, the Board of School Directors evaluates the Superintendent.  In accordance with state requirements, the Board of School Directors is required to post the summative result on the District's website.  The following link will provide an overview of the evaluation tool and the Overall Performance Rating of the Superintendent.
