Dear Parents, Guardians, and Residents of Wilmington Area School District:
The killings in Connecticut have impacted all of us. We share a tremendous amount of sadness and disbelief that this could have happened at an elementary school. The loss is overwhelming, and it is difficult to comprehend.
The National Association of School Psychologists provides information that you may find helpful if you are discussing this tragedy with your child/children. You can access the website atwww.nasponline.org.
Wilmington Area School District has a school safety program designed to provide a secure environment for our children. We believe that we have a good program. Given the events of last Friday, however, we have started a review of our plan. We are asking ourselves, “Is there more that we can do?”
I am asking for your input with regard to school safety. Is there something that you have seen that you believe will help us strengthen school safety? Is there something that we are missing? Please contact me firstname.lastname@example.org your input. You may also contact the building principals as follows:
Elementary Schools: email@example.com
Middle School: firstname.lastname@example.org
High School: email@example.com
Thank you very much for your input and your commitment to school safety.

School Safety and Security Survey for Parents
The district is conducting a School Safety and Security Survey for Parents. If you would like to participate, please click on the school that your child is attending. If you have children at multiple schools, complete a survey for each school. After you have completed the survey, you can send it to your child's school or mail it to Wilmington Area School District, 300 Wood Street, New Wilmington, PA 16142.
Thank you for your participation.
