Hello WASD Community, Governor Wolf has declared the following Mitigation Order effective Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 12:01 am and remaining in effect until 8:00 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2020. Voluntary activities sponsored or approved by a school entity’s governing body or administration are suspended, but these extracurricular activities may be held virtually. This includes, but is not limited to, attendance at or participation in activities such as musical ensembles, school plays, student council, clubs, and school dances. All sports at K-12 public schools, nonpublic schools, private schools and club, travel, recreational, intermural, and intramural sports are paused. The school buildings are only open to teachers and staff. The gyms, fitness center, and auditorium are closed during this time.

The staff member and students will continue to follow all necessary health protocols as required by the District and the Department of Health. As a result, the Wilmington Area School District grades K-12 will continue full virtual instruction through Friday, December 11, 2020. The District will continue to monitor the information disseminated by the DOH and DOE and will notify families as soon as possible for the week following.
