The staff members will continue to follow all necessary health protocols as required by the District and the Department of Health. The PA Dept. of Health will contact anyone who may have been exposed for a length of time to be considered a contact. Deep cleaning of any and all areas will continue. The PA Dept. of Health (DOH), in coordination with the Dept. of Ed. (DOE), has issued a recommendation to all schools in Lawrence County with respect to each schools’ instruction model instituted during the COVID-19 pandemic. The recommendation relies on two standard public health metrics: incidence rate and the percent positivity of diagnostic testing. These metrics are available for every county in Pennsylvania on the COVID-19 Early Warning Monitoring System Dashboard (https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Monitoring-Dashboard.aspx) At this time, based upon increased transmissions within the County it is the recommendation of the DOH and DOE that the County Schools proceed with a full remote learning model. As a result, the Wilmington Area School District grades K-12 will begin full virtual instruction Wednesday, November 4, 2020, and continue through Friday, November 13, 2020. The District will continue to monitor the information disseminated by the DOH and DOE and will notify families as soon as possible for the week of November 16, 2020.
