Miss Mary Beth Acker 


French classes are taught by Miss Acker. Miss Acker has thirteen years of experience teaching French and two years of experience teaching English in public schools in France. She holds a bachelor's degree in French, a second bachelor's in Secondary Education, and a third bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature, all three from Penn State and two French Masters degrees from the Universite de Grenoble and the Universite de Franche Comte, in Sciences du Langage, Metiers du FLE (French as a foreign language), and Linguistique Appliquee (Applied Linguistics).

In addition to teaching French and sponsoring the French Club, Miss acker also teaches Gifted Support and coaches the track and cross country teams at Wilmington.

Ms. Terri Marino


Ms. Marino spent 20 years in marketing and business before entering the teaching profession. A summa cum laude graduate of Slippery Rock University, Ms. Marino began her teaching career at Butler Intermediate High School before accepting a position with Wilmington Area School District. She teaches Spanish 1, 2, 3 and 4 to middle school and high school students.

In addition to teaching, Ms. Marino is the Junior Class Adviser, Student Council Adviser, a member of the CARE Team and Foreign Language Department Chair. She also enjoyed a nine-year term as Band Front Adviser prior to leaving the post in 2016.

Miss Michelle Shaffer


Miss Shaffer joined the Wilmington Spanish department in 2012. She currently teaches Spanish for grades 5, 6, and 7, and Spanish 1 at the middle and high school. She is also one of the ESL teachers who supports students learning English as a Second Language. Miss Shaffer received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Secondary Education from Grove City College in 2010 and her English as a Second Language Program Certificate in 2011. She also has experience teaching English as a foreign language in Barcelona, Spain.

In addition to her classes, Miss Shaffer is also the sponsor of the Spanish Club and is the assistant women's tennis coach at Wilmington. Miss Shaffer is also a proud alumna of Wilmington Area High School.
